BJJ Beginners Course

BJJ Beginners Course

Our Next Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Course For Beginners Starts On:

To be announced

Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) Course for beginners is a great way to learn this very popular martial art. Our six week course will teach you the basics of the sport, whilst helping to improve your fitness and confidence.

Why learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

We have a lot of students, with lots of reasons for getting into BJJ, but here are five we think are the most important.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for Self Defence.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a fantastic martial art to learn for self defense. Teaching methods for both stand up, and for when you are on the floor.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for Fitness.

Most martial arts are good for developing fitness, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is no exception. Increased cardio fitness, muscle tone, weight loss and flexibility are just a few of the health benefits of training BJJ.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for Confidence.

In all the years of teaching martial arts, I don’t think we’ve every had anybody who has developed “less” confidence. The vast majority of students find that they are far more confident about themselves, not just here in the dojo, but in life in general.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as a Challenge.

Learning and developing your Brazilian Jiu Jitsu skills is definitely a challenge. It isn’t a martial art you can master in a few classes – or even a few years. To advance through the grading system, takes time, patience and perseverance, but as you do progress, you will feel an amazing sense of achievement.

The Social Aspect of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

When you start your training at Doncaster Martial Arts Centre, you will meet a vast variety of people, from all walks of life. Friendships are quickly built up with your fellow students, as you train and learn together.

We often get asked questions about our BJJ Course for beginners. Here are the top five questions we get asked :

What equipment will I needed for the BJJ Course?

Our BJJ for Beginners Course includes a Gi and belt, and that is pretty much all you will need. Ladies may want to invest in a rash guard, but a T-Shirt will be fine if you prefer not to.

Is your BJJ Course suitable for women?

Most definitely. In our normal daily classes, we have a great group of women who train in BJJ, ranging from beginners, right up to Brown Belt.

Am I too old to start your BJJ course?

Not at all, we have students who train with us that are in their 60’s – there really is no age limit to training in martial arts.

I’m a bit unfit, will I still be able to do your BJJ course?

We cater for students of all levels of fitness. There is nothing in our course that will stop them training, regardless of fitness level and your fitness will improve as the course goes on.

Will there be a grading or promotion at the end of the course?

There will be no grading at the end of the course – this course is designed to give you the basics of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu martial art. This will then allow you to join (if you want to) our daily classes, where you will further develop your skills, and then as time progresses, be graded.
